Vineyard Golf Club Foundation makes grants

The Vineyard Golf Club Foundation (VGCF) Wednesday announced its 2011 list of recipients for grants totaling more than $100,000.

The Vineyard Golf Club is a private club located in Edgartown. Each year, members voluntarily contribute to the VGCF, which distributes the funds as grants to non-profit organizations on the Island, according to a press release.

This year’s recipients include The Drum Workshop, Friends of Edgartown Council on Aging, Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, Martha’s Vineyard Cancer Support Group, Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust, The Red Stocking Fund, The Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, The Vineyard Nursing Association, The YMCA, and the Martha’s Vineyard Arena.

The application deadline for 2012 grants is June 15. Awards will be granted in August of 2012. For criteria, guidelines and application, go to www.vineyardgolf.com. Since its inception in 2002, The Vineyard Golf Club Foundation has distributed more than $1.2 million to worthy causes, according to the foundation.
