ACE MV spring semester

This coming Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 17 and 18, is walk-in registration for ACE MV's spring semester classes, which includes five three-credit undergraduate and graduate courses from Cape Cod Community College and Fitchburg State University. Also on Tuesday, at 6:30 pm, is an informational meeting where one can meet the professors and discuss the for-credit courses. For more information, call 508-693-1033 ext. 240 or visit acemv.org.

MVWN meeting rescheduled

"Re-energizing in the New Year" with Margot Datz, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10, has been re-scheduled due to an illness. It is now set for Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Baylies Room at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. Registration is from 5:30 to 6 pm, and admission is $25; $15 for members who pre-register by January 13. If you cannot make the rescheduled program but you paid for the original meeting, email info@mvwomensnetwork.org for a refund.

Dine to Donate for Les Troubadours

A group of high school students from Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, Les Troubadours, are fundraising for an educational trip to Quebec this April with a Dine to Donate event at both Sharky's Cantinas, in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. A percentage of food sales benefits the group this coming Tuesday, Jan. 17, all day at both restaurants, as long as the patron has a VIP card. Poetry contest

The Jeffrey M. Lucey Veterans for Peace Cape Cod Chapter 041 seeks poetry submissions for its Peace Week Poetry Contest by March 30. Open to all residents of the Cape and Islands, the contest is open to both children in grades K-12 and adults. Poems should focus on an aspect of war or peace.
