Graveside service for Adelbert L. Sylvia
A memorial service for Adelbert "Buddy" L. Sylvia of Edgartown will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, Spring Street, Vineyard Haven, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Vineyard Haven, officiated by the Reverend Ellen Tatreau. Buddy died on October 27, 2011, at the age of 78.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Gloria J. (King) Sylvia, and a son, Gary Sylvia, of Edgartown. He was the father of the late Dennis W. Sylvia. He leaves a sister, Shirley Pachico of Oak Bluffs, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Alwardt, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
