Helen Mary Linton, 96, a long-time resident of Martha's Vineyard died peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, in Martha's Vineyard Hospital.

She lived in Edgartown and was the mother of Robert A. Linton and David D. Linton and the sister of Josephine Clark of Chelmsford. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Linton, and her daughter, Rebe Newman.

Visiting hours in Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs, will be held on Monday, Jan. 30., from 5 to 7 pm, with a funeral service at 7 pm officiated by the Reverend Ellen Tatreau. Burial will be in the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 1 pm. Donations may be made in her name to the M.V. Regional High School Scholarship Fund.
