Calling all Girl Scouts, past and present

The Girl Scouts of the USA will mark the 100th anniversary of their organization’s founding on March 12. Martha’s Vineyard Girl Scout leaders are looking for help to celebrate this special occasion on Sunday, March 11, at the Chilmark Community Center.

“We will have entertainment by the girls, a fashion show, sandwiches, cake and ice cream,” Girl Scout volunteer Jo Ann Murphy wrote in an email to The Times. “We would like to get the word out that any former Girl Scouts or leaders who would like to join us are welcome.”

In recognition of their special anniversary, in March the Vineyard Haven Library will feature a display of photos and memorabilia from the Martha’s Vineyard Girl Scouts.
