Vineyard Youth Tennis holds Round Robin Extravaganza

This past weekend Vineyard Youth Tennis hosted its fourth annual Round Robbin Extravaganza (RRE), to benefit the VYT scholarship fund. The weekend also featured an exhibition match between former ATP pro Ryler DeHeart and VYT's own Michael Halisky, who is currently ranked #1 in New England in the Men's 35 division.
The RRE doubles tournament was a three-day affair with matches beginning Thursday and running through Sunday afternoon. A silent auction also ran through the duration of the tournament, with the weekend culminating in the pro exhibition and cocktail party Sunday night.
Weekend highlights included Ryler DeHeart leading a question and answer session Saturday evening, followed by on-court drills for all VYT students.
Also, following Sunday's sold-out exhibition match, which was won by Mr DeHeart, the VYT future stars and tournament team players showed off their skills to the assembled crowd.
The results:
Men's A : Ryler DeHeart and Patrick McCarthy defeated Michael Halisky and Kent Leonard.
Ladies A : Liz Roberts and Laura Schroeder defeated Samantha Potter and Nina Bramhall.
Men's B : Scott Lively and Tiark Adelborough defeated Bruce Lewellyn and Roland Miller.
Ladies B : Cathy Lattanzi and Susan Peltier defeated Paula Rego and Michelle Bettencourt.
