Money might have been spent more wisely
To the Editor:
If the Steamship Authority had put half the money into the M/V Islander that they did repowering the M/V Governor last year, we would have had one fine vessel that seldom missed a trip.
The Islander has been the only SSA vessel to have been underway during a hurricane (in 1954) in Vineyard Sound.
Both boats are the same age, with Governor being only slightly older.
