Paul H. Corwin of Sandwich died on March 6. He was 78 and the cause was pneumonia.

A former police officer in Edgartown, he raised his family on Martha’s Vineyard. He also worked as a supervisor at Honeywell and a painter. He volunteered at Blake Hospital when he lived in Florida. He served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War.

He loved sailing and creating stained glass windows, and he had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Goodwin Corwin, and five children — Paul Corwin, Joyce Corwin, Stephen Corwin, Jennifer Corwin Vangelder, and Nancy Corwin Dillon; also by three granddaughters, five grandsons, and two brothers, Mark and Albert Corwin.

A memorial for family and friends will be held this Sunday, March 18, at 5 Leveredge Lane in Sandwich.
