Poet's Corner: Ode to Julian Robinson
Osprey from climes further south
To the Vineyard soon shall return
J. Robinson, sadly, not here to herald
Their predictable and sublime sojourn
No more poetic and lyrical refrains
No more watching out, no photos, no prose
Sweet Julian, how deeply sad your passing
The birds too, surely, will require recompose
The seasons will pass, ever changing
Avians, they will come and they will go
But absent your loving observations
Fewer of us, their triumphant arrival, will know
I delighted always in your easy poetics
I relish my memories of you, so clear
Rest well dearest Julian Robinson
In my mind's eye you'll always be near
