Island fire departments caution residents not to be alarmed about a fire training exercise this Saturday at 34 Anthier’s Way in Oak Bluffs.

“We want to let people know if they see smoke coming from that area not to be alarmed,” Oak Bluffs assistant fire chief John Rose said.

Firefighters will train under live fire conditions at the home on the Farm Neck golf course beginning at 8 am, Saturday, March 24.

The Martha’s Vineyard Law Enforcement Council tactical response team used the same location on Tuesday, March 20, for a training exercise.

The large home is scheduled for demolition. The owner agreed to let local fire and police departments use the building for training before it is demolished.
