Coast Guard boat crews from Station Woods Hole, members of the Island's police tactical response team and harbor patrol boat crews from Tisbury and Oak Bluffs participated in the drills off the Oak Bluffs Steamship pier under sunny skies on Wednesday.

Tisbury harbormaster Jay Wilbur, at the helm of the town's new fire, rescue harbor patrol boat, said the exercises are intended to train Island personnel in how to maintain effective security zones, and work with the Coast Guard, for example during presidential visits.
