Edgartown firefighters turned out Saturday morning, just after 6 am, to a fully involved structure fire between Second and Third Streets off the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road.
Firefighters found a shed in flames. "The fire was knocked down quickly without incident," Edgartown fire chief Peter Shemeth told The Times. "There were no injuries."
Chief Shemeth said a passerby on Beach Road across Sengekontacket Pond saw the column of smoke and reported the fire.
