Bettlebung Coffee House owners Renee and John Molinari recently moved their coffee business from Beach Street in Vineyard Haven to their retail store space at 24 Basin Road in Menemsha. The combined operation will open May 1. Beetlebung’s original retail store will remain open on Main Street in Vineyard Haven.
The Beetlebung Coffee House has been in operation for seven years in Vineyard Haven and the Menemsha retail store for three years. The Molinaris said ever since they started designing Island-inspired clothing, they wanted to unite their coffee house and retail business at one location, according to a press release.
“Our designs relate to the sea, including our first, the Rorschach Lobster, and several of our most popular menu items do, too, like the Quitsa, our crab melt panino,” Ms. Molinari said. “And our name comes from that part of the Island as well.”
The new coffee house will resemble the original coffee house in look, feel and taste, with some new twists. In addition to coffee drinks, smoothies, fresh-squeezed lemonade, egg-wiches and panini, Ms. Molinari said Beetlebung Menemsha will offer a variety of salads and gourmet wraps with Island-grown ingredients, geared to boaters and beach-goers. Mr. Molinari, known as the cook in the family, said he looks forward to introducing his house-made herb-balsamic dressing.
