Martha's Vineyard bridge club results
Bea Phear and partner Nancy Neil ran away with first-place honors at the Thursday, April 5, Island Bridge Club competition. Nancy Cabot and Ency Fokos took second place.
There was a tie for third place with the Gail Farrish/Patsy McCornack team in a dead heat with the Carol Whitmarsh/Dotti Arnold duo.
Five tables were in play.
The ACBL-sanctioned Island Bridge Club duplicate competition is held Thursday evenings at 7 pm at the Up-Island Council on Aging Howes House in West Tisbury. Players needing a partner are urged to telephone 508-693-3758 by noon on Wednesday for assistance. The cost is $5 a session.
