Members of the Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force arrested Nick Sullo of Tisbury at the Vineyard Haven Post Office on April 5, shortly after he picked up two Express Mail packages.

According to State Police Sgt. Jeff Stone, the packages contained two pounds of marijuana and nine live marijuana plants.

Mr. Sullo will face marijuana distribution charges in Edgartown District Court.

Sgt. Stone said U.S. postal inspectors asked the drug task force to assist in the investigation.

“They were doing routine examinations at the postal processing and deliver center in Wareham,” Sgt. Stone said. “They came across several suspicious packages.”

The packages were sent on to the Vineyard Haven Post Office, where Mr. Sullo came to pick them up Thursday morning, according to police.

The packages were addressed to Mr. Sullo, sent from Lake Tahoe, which straddles the border of California and Nevada.
