Martha’s Vineyard Little League will hold its annual Field Day, this Saturday, April 14.
The event is an annual rite of spring on Martha’s Vineyard and a harbinger of the start of the Little League Season.
Baseball fields all over Martha’s Vineyard will soon come alive with the sounds of over more than boys and girls playing baseball.
Each Field Day, the parents and players of little league head to Nunes Field in Edgartown, Veira Park in Oak Bluffs, Manter Field in West Tisbury, West Tisbury School, and the high school junior varisty field, to perform annual maintenence to get the fields ready for the start of the season.
The event is supported by the parks and recreation departments of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and West Tisbury and by the donations of several Island businesses, individuals, and Martha’s Vineyard Little League.
The event starts at 10:00 am on each field and runs until the work is done. Contact field day coordinator Dave Pizzano at 508-843-5017, Andrew Aliberti 508-776-2186, or Adam Bresnick 508-294-4247.
