Dr. Curt Cetrulo of Chilmark was presented with an award for “Outstanding Support of the Martha’s Vineyard Medical Reserve Corp.”
Dr. Cetrulo received the award while volunteering at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Health Fair on April 7. The award, granted by Rear Admiral Michael Milner, Regional Health Administrator of the US Department of Health and Human Services, recognized Dr. Cetrulo’s “ongoing participation and support of the MVMRC, particularly during Hurricane Irene,” according to a press release.
MVMRC volunteers assist to strengthen public health and the community response in the event of an emergency. Applications for medical and non-medical volunteers can be made through the statewide database, www.massresponds.org. Volunteers can sign up to be called for Martha’s Vineyard only, or to be called in an emergency in other nearby communities.
