Wayne K. Greenwell, playwright and ITW board member, will conduct the ongoing Playwrights' Studio.
Island Theatre Workshop (ITW) is inaugurating a Playwrights' Studio for all playwrights interested in creating and developing plays (non-musicals) of any length and theme.
The group will meet twice a month on the first and third Mondays at 12 Music Street in West Tisbury, from 7 to 9 pm. The May meetings are on May 7 and 21.
"Authors will have their works read aloud — by actors, when possible — for constructive feedback from the group," said Wayne K. Greenwell, who will conduct the workshop. Prior submission of a brief sample of written work, not necessarily a play, is required for consideration. The membership fee is $5 a month, payable to ITW.
Mr. Greenwell is a board member of ITW and author of many one-acts, full-length plays, and screenplays. His works have been produced in New York City, Seattle, and Martha's Vineyard. He is co-producer with Jonathan Revere of "Brief Plays for a Small Stage," an ongoing broadcast of short works on MVTV.
