Two auditions for Playhouse productions
The Vineyard Playhouse is holding auditions for Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) actors on Monday, May 7, from 10 am until 4 pm.
Roles are available in two shows: “The Screenwriter’s Daughter” by Larry Mollin and “Fenway: A Vineyard Love Letter” by Randal Myler. These shows will be performed in other Island venues, since The Playhouse renovations are not expected to be complete until late fall.
In addition, The Playhouse will hold open auditions for two outdoor Shakespeare shows on Saturday, May 12, from 10 am until 2 pm at the Tisbury Amphitheater off State Road in Vineyard Haven. “Romeo & Juliet,” directed by MJ Bruder Munafo and “Twelfth Night,” directed by Chelsea McCarthy, will both run in repertory from July 18 through August 18. Energetic non-union actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to prepare a short Shakespearean monologue (under two minutes) for the audition. Teens will be considered for roles in both plays.
For more information on either audition, please visit vineyardplayhouse.org or contact Geneva Monks at email@example.com.
