Beginning adult tennis clinic to be offered by Vineyard non-profit
Martha's Vineyard Community Tennis (MVCT) will sponsor an adults' beginning tennis clinic on Saturday, May 19, on the clay courts of Farm Neck in Oak Bluffs. The clinic is designed for people 18 years of age or over who have never played or have very little tennis experience.
The cost is $10 and includes lunch. Racquets and balls will be provided, but those with racquets should bring them.
There will be two hours of instruction from 9am until 11am. At noon, after lunch, there will be a round robin of games to exercise the new skills.
Farm Neck pro Mike Johns will begin the clinic with a brief talk about the rules and the benefits of the game. Racquet grips and basic strokes will be demonstrated.
In case of rain, the clinic will be held on June 2, at the same time. The clinic is sponsored by MVCT and a grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) New England.
Clinic spots are limited. Call 508-693-1277 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a space.
