Gas prices in the state dropped six cents per gallon this week, marking the third consecutive week of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England. In its weekly survey, the auto club found the price of self-serve, regular unleaded gas averaging $3.76 per gallon, six cents less than a week ago and down 13 cents during the past three weeks, the State House News service reported.

The current price is one cent less than the national average at $3.77 per gallon. A year ago, the average per gallon price of self-serve regular unleaded gas in Massachusetts was $3.94, according to AAA. This week’s price of premium unleaded self-serve gas is $4.07, and diesel is $4.13.

And on Martha’s Vineyard, the price of a gallon of regular is about $4.59.
