It's a matter of money
To the Editor:
Just how stupid does Mary Kenworth think your readers are? Trying to pass off the reason for allowing restaurants to sell beer and wine so that there would be more control over the amount people drink is way up there on the "farfetched" scale. How about a little honesty by saying that it allows the restaurants to make a larger profit, since a bottle of wine is generally marked up three to four times over retail price?
