To the Editor:
I thank Tisbury Police officers Joe Ballotte and Ryan Natichioni, as they were the first responders to the 911 call to my residence when I suffered a stroke on April 27. Also thanks to the Tisbury EMS ambulance crew. They along with the officers showed outstanding professionalism, compassion, and care in keeping me calm and meeting my medical needs during my crisis.
The care continued to be great right through to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital ER, thanks to their staff of nurses and doctors, especially Dr Zack. Also, my young son Elijah (eight years old), who pulled the emrgency cord in my apartment and opened the door for first responders and who just kept reassuring me everything was going to be okay.
Thanks to everyone mentioned, I was lucky and able to return to my home and am able to do my physical rehab and am on my way to recovery.
