Mark your calendar now. Help celebrate Memorial Day. 425 flags have to be put up in Oak Grove Cemetery on Memorial Day at 7:30 am. Then they are taken down at 3 pm. The veterans always need your help, especially in the afternoon. Firemen, policemen, veterans, and scouts are welcome to join in the parade. March to the Avenue of Flags for a brief ceremony, followed by laying of wreaths at the memorials, and then return to the Legion Hall for refreshments. The parade begins at 9:30 am at the Legion Hall on Monday the 28th.

They trudge along Main Street from the Tisbury School on the Friday before Memorial Day and then line up carefully to put their flowers in the harbor.
