On Wednesday, May 30, parents are invited to learn a trick or two in the kitchen.
Josh Levy of Vineyard Nutrition will host a healthy cooking workshop at the YMCA from 5:30 to 7 pm for down-Island parents.
At the same time, Jenny Devivo, a lunch server at West Tisbury School, and Chandler Rothbard, school chef at the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School, will host similar workshops at their respective schools.
“Our big goal is to help families gain tools and skills for doing more healthy, from-scratch, seasonal cooking at home, much in the same way we’ve been working to bring that kind of food to school cafeterias,” Noli Taylor, coordinator of Martha’s Vineyard farm-to-school program, Island Grown Schools, said in a press release.
This is the first of a series of workshops on healthy cooking made possible by a grant from Mass in Motion.
