Martha's Vineyard girls on to south semi finals in tennis tourney

The third seeded Martha's Vineyard Regional High School girls tennis team advanced to the MIAA Division 3 South sectional semi-finals with a 5-0 win over sixth seeded Fairhaven on a blustery, chilly Tuesday afternoon in Oak Bluffs.
First singles player Samantha Potter quickly put M.V. up 1-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kara Charette. Julia Cooper and Annabelle Hackney soon made it 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 second doubles win over Maddie McLaughlin and Kristen Flynn.
The Vineyarders clinched the match when the first doubles tandem of Alyssa Adler and Dylan Brockmeyer defeated Fairhaven's Farrah Gillette and Missy Berry, 6-0, 6-1.
Annie Burton won at second singles 6-3, 6-1 over Katie Leidhold and Wendy Wen rallied in third singles to defeat Michelle Westgate 4-6, 6-1, and 13-11 in the third set tie-breaker.
