Michael and Sandy Lindheimer took first place among the north-south players at the Thursday, June 7, Island Bridge Club (IBC) duplicate competition. Dan and Nancy Cabot were the first-place finishers among the east-west playing teams.
With an overall score of 63.69 percent, the Lindheimer team was also the highest scoring of the 17 teams playing that evening’s game.
Earlier in the week at the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club (MVBC) game Tuesday, June 5 duplicate competition, Barbara Besse and partner Bob Iadicicco (playing east-west) took first place overall. The second place finishers were Bill Blakesley and Cecily Greenaway (playing north-south). John O’Keefe and Ency Fokos (playing east-west) were third place finishers and Art Spielvogel and Bob Franklin came in fourth overall (also playing east-west). There were also 17 teams competing in this game.
Both the MVBC and the IBC duplicate competitions are American Contract Bridge League sanctioned.
The MVBC games are held on Tuesday evenings at7:30 pm at the Stone Church in Vineyard Haven. Admission is $4. Contact Sue at 508-693-9396 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance in finding an available partner.
The ICB game is held Thursday evenings at 7 pm at the Up-Island Council on Aging Howes House in West Tisbury. Players needing a partner are urged to contact Duncan at 508-693-0234 or Dr_dew@comcast.net by noon on Wednesday for assistance. The cost is $5 per session.
