Martha’s Vineyard Chamber selects winning phone book cover art

The new cover of The Island Book will feature the drawings of six Island students.

The Island Book, published by the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, is a combination telephone book and community information guide that features a the art of young Island students on its cover.

This week, the Chamber announced the winners of the 2012-2013 Island Book Cover art contest.

All sixth graders were invited to submit drawings of “Island Treasurers,” according to a Chamber press release. The winners are: Nic Andre of the West Tisbury School; Destiney Berninger of the Oak Bluffs School; Keith Chatinover of the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School; Taylor Fauteux of the Edgartown School; Jacob Gundersen of the Edgartown School; and Elizabeth Williamson of the Tisbury School.

Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore and his or her entry will appear on the cover of the 2012-2013 Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce Island Book.
