Where’s Waldo? If your youngster likes to look for Waldo, you should take the child to many of the businesses in Tisbury and find Waldo. Your kid will have no problem finding the picture of Waldo on the windows. Check it out at the Bunch of Grapes Bookstore. When a child spots Waldo inside, the shop will give the child a ticket to turn in at the Bunch of Grapes. The program runs through the 30th of July with a party on the 31st at the bookstore.

This evening at 5 pm is your chance to meet artist Carol Rowan at the Louisa Gould Gallery to learn more about her realistic paintings. Join Carol, Robert Jewett, Maya Farber, and Tim Coy at the artists reception for “A Sense of Place” on Friday with live music from 5 to 7 pm. You can hear Robert Jewett speak about his new work in glass window sculptures on Monday at 6 pm.

The Stone Wall Market Place opens Saturday from 10 to 2 at the First Baptist Church. Vendors will sell flowers, pottery, snacks, jewelry, and all kinds of stuff every Saturday through August, weather permitting.

The Martha’s Vineyard Museum held the annual Evening of Discovery at their new site last week. Perhaps you saw the big white tents on the property of the old Marine Hospital. More and more members and friends are discovering the Museum and looking forward to their plans for the future here in Tisbury.

Jim Butterick and the Federated Church Choir toured northern Italy, participating in several church services. They will duplicate some of these Italian services in the Federated Church on Sunday beginning at 10:30 am. Photos will be shared at the reception following.

This Tuesday at 7 pm, Jay Schofield will speak at the library. He will tell about four immigrant brothers in World War II, whose stories he relates in his just-published book, “Our Final Salute.” They were Jay’s father and uncles who came from Nova Scotia. Jay presents their story through a collection of more than 100 letters.

A week from Sunday you are invited to join in a free event with the Friends of the Vineyard Haven Library to honor Cynthia Riggs of West Tisbury. She is the author of the Vineyard mystery series featuring 92-year-old Victoria Trumbull. Cynthia’s 11th mystery, “Poison Ivy,” is now available on Kindle and soon in paperback.

On Tuesday evening you can enjoy Livingston Taylor and Elizabeth Straton in a concert at the Grange Hall, to benefit the West Tisbury Library. The ArtCliff Diner Truck will be parked outside, serving from 6 pm. Tickets are available at the library. Then a week later Ray Ellis and Allen Whiting will be at the Granary Gallery in another library benefit. Light refreshments will be served. Call for more at 508-693-3489.

A week from today, Charlayne Hunter-Gault will read from her new book “To the Mountaintop: My Journey through the Civil Rights Movement.” This is at 7:30 pm at Union Chapel. All proceeds benefit Island Elderly Housing and the Blueberry Van, which provides transportation to doctors or grocery shopping. Tickets are available at the Bunch of Grapes Bookstore for $35 or $40 at the door.

You can call it a Yard Sale, but the West Tisbury Church calls it an Attic & Barn sale. A week from Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm you can find anything from kayaks to books and bicycles and children’s games. All proceeds benefit the church.
