John J. Foley Jr., 60, of Vineyard Haven died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Jay was born in Portsmouth, N.H., on January 29, 1952. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School, Portsmouth, St. Thomas Aquinas ’70, Dover, N.H., and St. Bonaventure ’74, Olean, NY.
Jay is survived by his wife, Diane, of Vineyard Haven, his son, John J. Foley III, and his wife, Thea, of Portsmouth, his brother, Barry, and his wife, Suzanne, nieces Eilee and Brynn of Portsmouth, and his mother, Eileen Foley, of Portsmouth.
Jay’s passion and intellect for politics, love of music, his forever challenging golf game and of course his ability to make clever remarks in a sharp and amusing way will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
