Boat trailer mishap blocks Old County Road

West Tisbury police worked to clear Old County Road after a boat came off its trailer Friday morning.
West Tisbury police detoured traffic around Old County Road about 8:30 am Friday after a Jones Brothers center console Cape Fisherman fiberglass power boat slid off a trailer at the intersection of Otis Basset Road and Old County and blocked both travel lanes.
Police called in a front-end loader to lift the vessel from the roadway. Old County Road was reopened to traffic about 9:30 am.
A motorist who was driving by said it appeared a wheel came off the boat trailer.
