MVTimes, Chamber of Commerce join in online Calendar effort
The Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and The Martha's Vineyard Times are delighted to announce they have completed a project providing a shared, online calendar of events.
The collaboration gives residents and visitors a complete, easily accessible calendar of information about local events, activities, programs and more.
"It just makes sense for the Times and the Chamber to come together to bring useful information to readers and site visitors and support all the terrific businesses and events on Island, through one fully-integrated information system" said Peter Oberfest, Martha's Vineyard Times owner.
The calendar can be accessed on either organization's website, www.mvtimes.com and www.MVY.com, and offers full listings. For those submitting an event, the online calendar has a simple "Submit Your Event" button and form. Once submitted, the information will post on both websites within 24 hours.
"This partnership allows for fast event postings, which enhances the online visitor's experience," said Nancy Gardella, executive director of the chamber. Additionally, The Times has provided a news feed to the chamber's website to help inform visitors.
