Seth Vieara Jones, 26, of 1604 East Side River Road, Dummer, N.H., died on Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Oak Bluffs on June 1, 1986, Seth was the son of Tom and Peggy (Vieara) Jones. Seth graduated from Berlin, N.H., High School with the Class of 2004 and served with the U.S. Marines 169 Vipers from 2004-2011, having served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He was employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Seth was an avid baseball player through his youth and during high school and was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Members of the family include his parents, Tom and Peggy Jones of Dummer; brothers Joshua, Jacob, and Alec Jones of Dummer; grandparents Kay Vieara of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and Bill and Lee Jones of Richmond, Virginia, and Martha’s Vineyard; great-grandmother Margaret MacLellan who is 95; many aunts, uncles, cousins, Viper family, countless bros and lifelong friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday July 23 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, N.H. Interment followed in the Willis Cemetery in Dummer.
