Give a thought for that by-pass road

To the Editor:

For you Tisbury voters, If the annual town meeting was scheduled for next week, which way would you vote on paving the by-pass road? Right, it would pass easily. Let's remember that in the dark days of next spring, and perhaps we can start to think of some cheaper starter solutions.

How about a dirt road not unlike others on the Island. What about just opening the road from Memorial Day to Columbus Day? Could we make it a toll road, with residents getting "Tristan Card Passes" and folk from Edgartown paying a $0.25 toll, which will pay down the bond issue?

These are just a few thoughts to run through your mind while you are sitting in traffic waiting to make the turn onto State Road.
