The steamy weekend heat and humidity did little to hold down participation in the annual Scoops 5K road race in Katama this morning. Nearly 400 runners lined up for the start at Katama Farm.

First to the tape was Marc Robaczynksi of Canton, Conn., who finished the race in 16:47. Lee Greathouse of Edgartown was the first Vineyarder to cross the finish line and placed fifth overall with a time of 17:50.

The women’s winner was Lynne O’ Donnell from Portland, OR, who came to the line in 19:47 and finished in 11th place. Hilda Lewis of Vineyard Haven was the first local woman to finish and came in 26th overall, in 21:46.
