12 Metres sail in Edgartown

The Edgartown Yacht Club hosted the annual 12 Metre regatta on August 11-12. Eight boats competed in three divisions.
In the Tradtional Division, Columbia of the 12 Metre Yacht Club, skippered by Alain and Dan Hanover, fared best with three wins in six races, to take the overall title. Two Edgartown Yacht Club entries followed. American Eagle, with skipper Anthony Chiurco, was second. Weatherly, skippered by Steven Barnes, was third.
The aptly named Victory of the New York Yacht Club placed first in the Modern Division. Skipper Dennis Williams guided the craft to three wins in six races. Courageous (NYYC), with Steve Glascock and Ralph Isham at the helm, was second. Jack Curtain's Intrepid (NYYC) was third.
Two boats competed in the Grand Prix Division. USA (NYYC, EYC) and skipper James Heckman took first with five wins in six races over Laura (NYYC) and Kip Curren.
