On stage Thursday at Dreamland, Ben Taylor expanded on his songs with background stories about their origins and significance.

Ben Taylor brought his friends and folk-based tunes to Dreamland Thursday, to benefit the Rockhouse Foundation. It was the third annual benefit for the charity that raises money to build and renovate schools in needy sections of Jamaica. The event was also a release party for his new CD, entitled "Listening."

Mr. Taylor, son of James Taylor and Carly Simon, is a polished performer with a laidback but warm and highly professional stage manner that delivers a truly entertaining show. His songs and banter were filled with humor and his introspective take on the world around him. The house was comfortably filled with an appreciative crowd. This show was the first of a 35-show tour around the United States for Mr. Taylor. His next performance is September 12 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
