Dogs parade through Ocean Park

Dogs and their owners marched through Ocean Park to music by Ed Rodgers on trumpet, Max Santos on drums, and Grant Santos on clarinet (behind).

Dogs marched their owners through Ocean Park last Sunday, Aug. 19, for the fourth annual Good Dog Goods Martha's Vineyard Dog Parade. Participating canines included 11-year old Shelby as the parade's grand marshal, whose leash was carried by Fred Roven, and past marshals like Marty and Joanne Homlish's yellow lab, Chappy.
The dogs marched to the sound of music by Ed Rodgers on trumpet, Max Santos on drums, and Grant Santos on the clarinet. Father Rob Hensley of the Grace Episcopal Church and husband Michael Helgert offered a Blessing of the Dogs.
Good Dog Goods donated organic dog treats and pick-up bags, and the Dunkl family provided Chilmark Spring Water. The parade was a good time for pets and their human friends alike.
