Not for Sale

135 years

on tiny tree feet,

Gothic arches of glass,

stained and glowing

covered with gingerbread lace,

holding memories of

more than a century of summers —

braced in quiet defiance

against

hurricanes

summer cameras

winter vandals

mold and mildew

peeling paint

and the pendulum of time —

our "Brigadoon"

Blue Cottage

built in 1870,

Campgrounds,

Oak Bluffs,

Martha's Vineyard
