Summerland, An Island Renga, runs through August 25.

The tree-shrouded trail between the Lambert’s Cove parking lot and beach in West Tisbury is currently home to an art and poetry installation for Summerland, a Martha’s Vineyard Renga event.

The event is produced by Martha’s Vineyard’s seasonal Poet Laureate, Rachel Baird. The installation consists of photography, art, and poetry by local and nationally acclaimed poets, along with an interactive station for public participation. On August 17, opening night, improvisational dancers and Native American flute musicians gathered along the path to celebrate renga, which is a Japanese poetry genre based on change.

The installation will remain intact until this Saturday, August 25. Lambert’s Cove Beach is located off of Lambert’s Cove Road in West Tisbury.
