Generosity abounds
To the Editor:
It is truly amazing to experience the depth of care, giving, and love that is found in this Island community. With so many fundraisers during the summer months, it was indeed generous that several local businesses supported the Federated Church Blueberry Pancake Breakfast on August 12.
Our breakfast hardly rates as one of the largest events during the summer, but that did not diminish the enthusiasm for those who provided us with much needed goods and services. Our very special thanks go to Sam Koohy and the Vineyard Haven Stop and Shop, Jim and Debbie Athearn of Morning Glory Farms, The Rotary Club, and the Vineyard Gazette of Edgartown. The proceeds of this event go entirely to The Martha's Vineyard Cancer Support Group.
This was our eighth year doing this event, and with continued support from our Island friends, we hope to continue this event for many years to come.
