The Vineyarders beat the Bristol-Plymouth Craftsmen of Taunton 28-26, Friday afternoon. A late 11-yard touchdown run by running back Brandon Watkins, with 33 seconds left in the game, put the Vineyard over the top.

The last play of the game was an interception in Vineyard territory by Purple defender John Henry O'Shaughnessy, with Bristol-Plymouth knocking at the door, at the Vineyard 40 yard line.

Martha's Vineyard ended each half of the game with a big interception. At the end of the first half, it was Tony Canha who picked off a Craftsman pass by Colin McGrath, at the Vineyard's 10 yard line.

Other touchdowns were a 47-yard pass from Alec Tattersall to Watkins; a quarterback sneak by Tattersall; and a 57-yard run on a sweep by Watkins.

The Vineyarders are 1-1 overall. Next week they play Brighton at White Stadium in Boston.
