Early morning fire destroys an Edgartown vacation house

An early morning fire Wednesday destroyed a house at 20 Kent Harbor Lane in Edgartown.

Edgartown police and firefighters responded to a fire in the Katama section of town early Wednesday, September 26. The house at 20 Kent Harbor Road was a complete loss.

Police and fire officials found the home fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived, about 2:15 am.

The home was unoccupied at the time, and no one was hurt fighting the fire.

Mark and Jennifer DeWolf of Bristol, Rhode Island own the property. The couple traveled to Martha’s Vineyard this morning, according to police.

The 1,900 square foot two-story home was built in 1973, and the assessed value is listed as $960,500 according to town records.
