An obituary for Margaret Douglas McCarter of Westport, published September 27, reported that a memorial service would be held on October 10. The service is scheduled for Saturday, November 10.

A story published September 27, “Community Preservation Act changes may benefit Martha’s Vineyard,” incorrectly described the procedure to revoke the act.

The original legislation provided a way for communities to revoke CPA, five years after implementation, through the same procedure as it was adopted. In Aquinnah, the act was adopted by a town meeting vote, and revoking it would require a town meeting vote. All other Island towns adopted the act when five percent of registered voters petitioned to place CPA on the ballot, and voters approved it. If five percent of voters petitioned to revoke the act, the question could go before voters in a new election.
