Art in the Stacks with Clara Kisko

If you visit the Vineyard Haven Library this month, you may notice Clara Kisko’s art on the walls, part of October’s Art in the Stacks initiative.

Ms. Kisko of Edgartown began painting when she was in her 50s after taking classes at Featherstone with Carolyn Daniele. The series of paintings on display were all painted in 2012 with a group she paints with on Monday afternoons.

Art in the Stacks strives to provide individual artists opportunities to show their work and to give library patrons art to enjoy while they browse. For more information, call 508-696-4211.

On display at Mocha Mott’s

Chris Hughes, a retired corrections officer, graphic designer, and currently a pest control technician at Griggs and Browne, is the current artist displaying at Mocha Mott’s in Vineyard Haven. Mr. Hughes has enjoyed drawing and painting since he was young. He has a BFA in studio art from the University of Rhode Island.

In 2007, Mr. Hughes was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s, but he continues to create art, whether it is with pen and ink or watercolor. His show runs through the month of October. For more information, email chris@hughesgraphicdesign.com.
