Pick of the Crop
Island Theatre Workshop’s upcoming Pick of the Crop play festival starts Friday, October 19, and continues for a total of five nights, ending next Sunday, October 28.
The festival includes Wayne Greenwell’s “God and Satan Walk Into a Missle Silo,” Jill Jupin’s “The Fifty Minute Hour,” Enid McEvoy’s “The Trial of Eve,” and Sally Wiener’s “Touch Me, Touch Me Not.” All performances are at the Katharine Cornell Theatre at 7:30 pm, and admission is $15.

PechaKucha wants designers
As part of October’s Art*Island Festival of Arts and Ideas, there will be a PechaKucha Night this coming Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown.
PechaKucha was devised in Japan in 2003, an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Cultural lunch with The Yard
The Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living kicks off its third season of cultural luncheons with David White, current artistic director of The Yard and former executive director and producer of The Dance Theater Workshop in New York from 1975 to 2003.
Women’s Network talks business
The next meeting of the Martha’s Vineyard Women’s Network is Tuesday, Oct. 23, and features the owners of Not Your Sugar Mamas, Vineyard Herbs Teas and Apothecary, and Katama General Store/Lobster Tales Catering, who will discuss their successes and growing pains while developing their businesses on the Vineyard.
