Oak Bluffs

Have you noticed the addition to the Nelson Amaral Fire Station on Wing Road? The trailer now housing the Fire and Ambulance Chiefs’ offices was an innovative way of getting needed space without great expense. They managed to make it as attractive as possible, and it really gives the appearance of having existed by the station from the start.

At last, after 5 years, the plaque designating the former Waban Park as the Dennis P. Alley Community Park has been replaced with a new one that spells “Oak Bluffs ” correctly instead of “Oak Buffs.” Thank you to the Town, Highway Superintendent Richard Combra and Tricia Bergeron who lit the fuse to get this accomplished. We are grateful.

We enjoyed a 10-day visit from our son Dion, daughter-in-law Debra and granddaughter Paige. They will be moving at the end of the year from their home in South Carolina to Debra’s homeland, Perth, Australia where Paige will get a chance to get re-acquainted with her Australian aunts, uncles, and cousins. So of course we tried to squeeze in as much family time as possible during this all too brief visit.
