Barbara L. (Case) Forend, 82, of Onset, died October 20, 2012 in the Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Buzzards Bay. She was the widow of the late Gilbert A. Forend and the daughter of the late Edward F. and Dorothy (Davenport) Case.

She was born in Fall River and lived in Woods Hole, on Martha's Vineyard, and in Onset for many years.

Mrs. Forend worked as a waitress in the area for many years. She also worked for Wareham VNA and Hospice.

She was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise Church in Wareham. She enjoyed watching birds and wildlife. She loved her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia L. Forend of Wareham; two sons, Thomas C. Forend of Onset and Gilbert "Pete" A. Forend Jr. of Oak Bluffs; a sister, Lydia Olsen of West Tisbury; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday at the Tabernacle of Praise Church, 187 Hathaway St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours are from 10 to 11 am at the church.
