Task force drug arrest in Edgartown nets pills
Members of the Martha's Vineyard Drug Task Force (MVDTF), led by Oak Bluffs Police Detective Nick Curelli, arrested Gabrielle Hope Joubert at her home in Edgartown on October 25, on charges of possessing narcotics, with intent to distribute. Police will summons Derick Brodeur of West Tisbury on similar charges.
Armed with a search warrant, police arrived at Ms. Joubert's house around 1:15 pm, where they found her home with her mother and sleeping seven-month-old son. Her boyfriend, Mr. Brodeur, was absent.
Police found a baggie containing 18 Oxycodone pills and 2 Subutex pills. Detective Curelli also found "chit sheets" with names and numbers and $550 bound with a rubber band that Ms. Joubert said was drug money. She denied that Mr. Brodeur had anything to do with her selling drugs and that an additional $3,753 police found was his pay for flooring work.
According to the police report, Ms. Joubert bought 50 to 60 pills "every week or so" to sell for $50 each.
Ms. Joubert was charged with possession of a Class B Substance with the intent to distribute (Oxycodone), and possession of a Class B Substance (Subutex).
