Bring it on at Wingfest
This Saturday, consume all-you-can-eat chicken wings and support the Boys and Girls Club of Martha's Vineyard at the annual Wingest at Sharky's Cantina in Edgartown. From 12 noon to 4 pm, enjoy a wing-eating contest, live music, prizes, and more, and vote for your favorite wings. Tickets are $30; $25 in advance. For more information, visit wingfestmv.com.
"The Nutcracker" this weekend
The 15th annual "Nutcracker Gala" performance, performed by Children in the Arts of Martha's Vineyard, is this Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7 pm and Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 pm. The show features the Atlantic Coast Ballet on stage with dozens of young Vineyard dancers, making up a cast of 75. The show, directed by Beth Vages, is at the Performing Arts Center at the M.V. Regional High School in Oak Bluffs. Tickets are $15; $25 priority center seating; and $50 for 2 adults and 3 children. For more information, call 508-939-0074.
For the Moores
A fundraiser for Jim and Shannon Moore will be held at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs Friday, Nov. 30. Jim was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2008, and is currently going through treatments. Friday's event is from 6 to 10 pm, and includes music, a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres, and more.
